THE SURFACE CHARACT RISTICS Of HYDROCHLORIC ACID TREATED γ-Al_2O_3 AND ITS EFFECT ON THE SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS AND REACTIVITY OF Pt IN Pt/Al_2O_3

The effect of hydrochloric acid treatment on the surface characteristics of γ-Al_2O_3 and the surface characteristics and reactivity of Pt/Al_2O_3 were studied.It was foundthat hydrochloric acid treatmeat might increase the number of acid centers(both strong andweak acid centers)of γ-Al_2O_3, and the number of both low temperature and high tempera-ture active centers of Pt/Al_2O_3.The activity of Pt/Al_2O_3 were therefore also for hydrogenolysis,isomerization and dehydrocyclization reaction increased.
