STUDY ON THE ACID CATALYSIS OF ION EXCHANGE RESIN WITH Sn

Although positive ion exchange resin can be used as solid acidity catalyst by supporting H ̄+,the H ̄+is easily exchanged by the metal ion in the industrial reactor, as a result, it loses its catalytic activity and is limited its application in the industry.In this paper,SnCl_4 has been reacted with sulphonate with a structure of Ion Exchange D0001·Sn to form anew acidity centre(H_0≤-11.35), which can not be exchanged by positive ion. Its acidity catalytic activity has been obviously improved. By using D001· Sn catalyst in the esterification of acetic acid with butanol, the apparent activation energy has been reduced from 111.0 kJ/mol to 39.0 kJ/mol. At the optimum condition with continuous separation of water,the yield of 5 hours can reach 98.7%. Therefore,the catalytic activity of D001· Sn is better than that of H_2SO_4 at the same equation and has good behavior of industrial application.
