INFLUENCES OF K 2O ON ACIDITY AND MCH DEHYDROGENATION STABILITY OF PtSn/Al 2O 3 CATALYST

This article deals with the influences of K 2O on the acidity and MCH dehydrogenation stability of industry PtSn/Al 2O 3 catalyst by pyridineIR, adsorption and desorption of NH 3, thermogravimetry (TG), DSC and MCH dehydrogenation The results show that almost all of the acid sites on the surface of the industry catalyst is Lewis type The total number of acid sites, especially the number of acid sites with strong acidity and the rate of carbon deposition on the surface of PtSn/Al 2O 3 catalyst all decrease when the K 2O content increases But MCH dehydrogenation stability in the reaction condition: 0 12MPa, 500℃, N 2/MCH(mol)=3∶1, WHSV=6h 1 only increases when K 2O content changes from 0 to 0 4w% and decreases when K 2O amount is added from 0 4 to 1 0w% The role of K 2O is to modify or to neutralize all the acid sites and is partially to cover the active centre of PtSn/Al 2O 3 catalyst
