Characteristics and Dynamic Simulation of Soil Water in the Zoige Plateau Wetland

Taking Long Riba zone of Zoige Plateau Wetland as an example,the soil layers and water balance in every layer were studied. The longitudinal change of soil water content in wetlands with different degradation degree was measured and explained by water balance model. The outcomes show that the soil of the region is departed into three layers,namely root zone,turf zone and hardpan. In wetlands with a little and moderate degradation degree,soil water content is rising with depth in root zone,falling in turf zone and rising in hardpan. In wetlands with heavy degradation agree,soil water content keeps rising throughout three layers. Meanwhile,the seepage velocity and head are obtained by IGW simulation. It shows that the excavation of drainage ditch directly aggravates the degradation of wetland in Long Riba zone.
