Analytical Calculation of Cnoidal Wave Forces on the Porous Vertical Breakwater

Based on cnoidal wave theories and wave diffraction theory,the analytical solutions to the shallow water wave interaction with the porous vertical breakwater were derived by applying the eigenfunction expansion approach,and the mathematical solutions to the reflection and transmission wave velocity potential which were satisfied with the boundary conditions of the first order cnoidal wave theories. The wave force and moment could be derived from the velocity potential. Furthermore,compared with the results from Airy wave theory,the wave load prediction values from cnoidal wave theories could reflect wave nonlinearity effects.
