Analysis of Water Storage Time for Power Generation Ahead of Schedule in Xiaolangdi Reservoir

An Xindai, Wang Yufeng, Li Fusheng (Institute of Reconnaissance, Design, Planning and Research, YRCC, Zhengzhou,450003)(35) Xiaolangdi reservoir will start running for water storage by closing diversion tunnel no.2 and no.3 on 1 November,19  
according to the schedule of bidding invitation. The power station is possible to generate power ahead of planning under the consideration of speeding up of construction and other advantageous factors. Time for closing gate and storing water is suggested in October,1999 after analysis of the influence of ahead of schedule of closing gate for power generation and early stage of water storage on the lower reaches of the dam and the risk for Sanmenxia and Xiaolangdi reservoirs of flood storage in September and October,1999 when the scheduled date is moved up to the period.
