Research on Numerical Test for Solving Slagging Problem in Furnace by Using Coal Powder Burner with Guide-Plate

In this paper,the projection method is used to compute the aerodynamic field at the exit of a burner and in a furnace,the Monte Carlo method for radiation heat exchange in a furnace and the finite difference method for convection heat exchange and conduction,then find the temperature distribution in the furnace.Results of numerical tests show that a coal powder burner with a guide plate can decrease the diameter of the tangential circle in the furnace and temperature level near the water wall effectively,so as to prevent slagging in the furnace.The successful utility of a 300 MW unit proves the correctness of this test,which provides an effective way to solve the slagging problem in the furnace of a large scale power plant boiler.
