Numerical Simulation on Shock Wave Propagation Characteristics of Gas Explosion in Parallel Roadway

Propagation laws of shock wave to adjacent coal face were simulated by AutoReaGas software when gas explosion occurred in underground heading face of coal mine.The results show that peak overpressure and maximum temperature are decreased continuously as shock waves propagate in the roadway.At the intersection of return airways,the two shock waves of face-to-face propagation can form superposition effect,and then peak overpressure and maximum temperature are increased significantly.The change law of maximum temperature along roadway is the same as peak overpressure.Peak overpressures and maximum temperatures in corresponding points of two parallel coalfaces are almost the same.Some relevant preventive measures can be taken to reduce the loss caused by gas explo-sion near the bifurcation port where is destroyed seriously because of the superposition of shock waves.
