By choosing five periods, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995, 1998, the authors analysis the development features and the spatial evolution of the flow of passengers and freight transport in Pearl River Delta. In the part 1, the authors research the times and spatial change of the flows. In Pearl River Delta, the contact ion of spatial transport has rationality on scale, structure and function, superiority of beneficial result, and lasting. The disadvantageous of the contaction on spatial transport should be recognized, such as the intense appointility on Guangzhou, and the "porch model". They would not be benefit for the development of whole Pearl River Delta. The main transport porch of the Pearl River Delta has been formed among Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hongkong.
