Progress on Olive Germplasm Classification and Species Identification

Xuan Zhou (School of Bioengineering,Xihua University,Chengdu,610039,Sichuan)  
Olive types and species identification are the foundation of olive germplasm resources research and protection of new varieties. In this paper, mainly from the morphological markers, cytological markers, biochemical markers and DNA markers on the four aspects of the identification of olive elaborated and evaluation as well as the focus of several major molecular markers for comparison. In addition, the article also on the olive variety identification methods development tendency.
