A Review on the Succession Tendency of Population of Degenerated Grassland

LI Zhi-dan;GAN You-min;ZE Bai;HUO Shang-feng Grassland Science Department of Sichuan Agriculture University Ya'an 625014, China Institute of Sichuan Grassland Research,Hongyuan,624400,China
The degeneration of grassland community is characterized by the trends of plant individual, the population, the community and the variations of physical and chemical features of soil. The characteristics and trends of the degeneration grassland are discussed according to the response of the several main factors to the grassland degeneration. The factors include the features of plant individual form, the patterns of the de- generation nd the variations of soil nutrition. It suggests that the further research must be done in some as- pects such as the mechanism of degeneration and succession of grassland, grazing ecology, restoration ecology, interface ecology, grassland value evaluation.
