Application of DNA Sequences and RAPD Techniques in Molecular Systematics of Grasshoppers

LIU Dian-feng, ZHAO Jun-jie, TAO Ling-xia, WU Jun-zhuo(Puyang Vocational & Technical Institute, Puyang, Henan Province 457000)
At present, the taxonomic systems of grasshopper are fonuded based on morphologic characters. They were disputed for their stronger subjectivities and experts had different viewpoints. There are abundant biological information in DNA sequences, and the history of organism evolution was recorded by DNA sequences. The enough molecular evidence for establishing perfect taxonomic systems of grasshopper could be provided by biological information of DNA sequences. The recent progress of molecular phylogeny of grasshopper based on RAPD and DNA sequences are reviewed and their problems are also summarized in this paper.
