EFFECTS OF FOOD PLANTS ON TBE ACTIVITY OF CARBOXYLESTERASE OF THE DIAMONDBACK MOTH,PLUTELLA XYLOSTELLA (L. ) (LEPIDOPTERA: PLUTELLIDAE)

The activity of carboxylesterase from larvae of all 4 instars was greatly influenced by their food plants. The activity of carboxylesterase from larvae fed on cauliflower (Brassica oleracea L. var. Botrytis L.) was the highest and that on radish(Raphanus sativus L.) was the lowest among all the six kinds of food plant. The extentorder of the activity of carboxylesterase from the larvae fed on different food plants wasradishcabbage (Brasrica oleracea L.var.capitata L.) flowering Chinese cabbage(B.campestris L.ssp.Chineseis var.utilis Tsen et lee) pak - choi [B.campestris L.ssp. Chineasis (L. ) Makino var.communis Tsen et Lee]watercress (Nasturtiumofficinale R. ) cauliflower.
