The effect of the solution pH and initial arsenic concentration on the adsorption of arsenic(V) onto ferric hydroxide was studied.The results showed that the sorption capacity was related to the solution pH.At the pH around neutral,the sorption capacity reached the maximum value.Under certain pH condition,the adsorption percentage increased with the increasing arsenic concentration for the initial solution containing arsenic between 0.00001 and 0.001mol/L.The adsorption isotherm at pH=3,7 and 12 could be well fitted using the Freundlich model with the relationship coefficient R20.99.
