A PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE ORIGIN AND ECOLOGCAL GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION OF ICHANG PAPEDA

Gou Jianying (Sichuan Agricultural College,Ya'an,Sichuan,China)
This article gives an analysis of the geographical and ecological distribution of Ichang papeda. The plants of Ichang papeda have a relatively wide distribution in the ever-green,deciduous broad-leaved mixed forest areas in the northern sub-tropical zone, where the absolute low temperature is above -15℃,and evergreen,broad-leaved forest areas in the central sub-tropical zone with yearly average temperature lower than 18℃.Besides the semi-humid areas of the central sub-tropical zone are the periphical region of its distribution. With reference to the origin of Citrus,it is conjectured that Ichang papeda originate in south-west China at Miocene epoch.
