Study on Surrounding Rock Deformation Characteristics of Underground Powerhouse at Pubugou Hydropower Station

Because of large volume and span(more than 30m),great attractions are paid on surrounding rock deformation and stability of underground powerhouse of Pubugou hydropower station by all parties concerned.Based on abundant and sound information of monitored deformation and considering its geology and construction data,the deformation distribution characteristics are summarized and the major influencing factors are analyzed.It is concluded that surrounding rock deformation is effected by various factors,including geological factors(in-situ stress,quality of rock mass,fault discontinuity) and engineering factors(excavation and supporting measures).Quality of rock mass and fault discontinuity are controlling factors.
