ELECTROPHYIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF CHILDREN WITH VERBAL AUDITORY AGNOSIA

Youwei Huang The Department of Electroneurophysiology,Baise People's Hospital,Baise,533000,China
Objective:To explore the roles of brainstem auditory evoked potential(BAEP)and electroencephalography(EEG)testing in children with verbal auditory agnosia(VAA).Methods:BAEP and EEG were examined and analyzed in 57 cases with verbal auditory agnosia. Results:In 57 cases with verbal auditory agnosia, the abnormal rate of BEAP is 87.7%,the abnormal rate of EEG is 22.8%.The abnormal rate of BEAP and EEG was comparied by x2testing,the result is P0.01.Conclusion:The abnormality of BAEP and EEG suggest the possibility of functional damage from spinal cord to brain stem and cortex. It may help the clinical diagnosis and evaluate function of nervous system.
