Application of the phase inversion of microemulsions in the organic contaminant separation

The phase inversion of winsor type microemulsion WinsorⅢ→WinsorⅠ→WinsorⅢ is of important applications in the organic contaminant separation.If polyvalent cations(Al3+ and Ca2+)are substituted by monovalent cation Na+ in a microemulsion system,the phase of the system will invert from WinsorⅢ to Winsor I,and the organic contaminant solubilized in the middlephase microemulsion is released,since the solubilization power of the organic contaminant is smaller in Winsor Ⅰ type microemulsion than that in Winsor Ⅲ microemulsion.The phase inversion is reversible,so the surfactant solution can be reused.
