Detection of Available Chlorine Concentration in Electrolyzed Functional Water

A kind of electrolyzed water called electrolyzed functional water is introduced, which could sterilize the bacteria and promote plant growth. As a kind of new disinfectant, the strong acid electrolyzed functional water can be recommended as the best choice in plant protection and farm produce processing. In this paper, the formation process and function mechanism are stated and components of the available chlorine in electrolyzed functional water are analyzed. The current methods and their advantages and disadvantages to detect the available chlorine concentration of electrolyzed functional water are summarized. Based on the analysis of the existing detection technology and devices, it's pointed out there will be one cheaper online device used to detect the various indexes of electrolyzed functional water (pH, ORP, temperature, specially the available chlorine concentration), which can be operated more conveniently and will work much longer.
