A investigation of wave resistance on the high speed trimarans and their piece hull position optimization

Based on the linear wave resistance principle, a wave resistance formula is established for the high speed trimaran with a main center hull and two small outer hulls. By present wave resistance formula, the characteristics of the wave interference effect among piece hulls, and the trend of the wave resistance curve are investigated; in addition, the method for the optimizing the outer hull position from the view point of reducing wave resistance is studied, incorporating the contour graph method and simple enumeration method.
