A new numerical solution to investigate 2-D green water problem

Green water problem has been a focus for long time in the field of strong non-linear problem.It's an important factor of causing damage to oceanic floating structure.In the present paper, a numerical solution for green water problem is fully described.The emphasis of this investigation is on the dynamic response of the floating object and the green water phenomenon.The simulation is performed in a 2-D numerical wave tank.A plunge-type wave maker is used to generate the wave..To eliminate the reflected waves, sponge layer is adopted.The free surface is captured by employing the VOF method.Motion of the floating object is coupled with the incoming waves.Comparison of the motion of the object between the numerical results and the experimental results is presented, and also including the resulted impact load.
