Studies on the chemical components of the root of Elaeagnus umbellala Thunb

A study has been made on the chemical constituents of the root of Elaeagnus umbellala Thunb.The constituents were extracted by alcohol, distributed by different solvents, isolated and purified via silica column chromatography and TLC.Their structures were identified by means of physicochemical properties and GC-MS, NMR ,DEPT .etc.In ten compounds isolated three were identified as β-sitosterol(Ⅰ), rutin(Ⅳ), quercetin(Ⅴ), which were isolated from the root of Elaeagnus umbellala Thunb for the first time.
