Progress on Tumor Angiogenesis Inhibitor from Marine Organism

Targeting therapy is a promising program for cancer treatment.Anti-angiogenesis has been developed as a novel strategy for the cancer treatment.Angiogenesis is essential for the growth,development and transloca-tion of solid tumor.As a result,inhibition of angiogenesis represents a feasible aspect for developing anti-tumor agents.Based on the different biological progresses of angiogenesis,various approaches have been applied to develop tumor angiogenesis inhibitors(TAIsa)nd several TAIs have been on the market at home and abroad.Marine organisms,as a molecular bank for new drugs,have produced many TAIs with special structures and mechanisms of action.Herein,we present a thorough review for the mechanisms of different kinds of TAIs from marine organisms.
