Geological and Geochemical Features of Metamorphic Rocks Containing Garnets in Lliang District Shanxi Province

Geological and geochemical features of metamorphic rocks containing garnets in Lliang District Shanxi Province are studied in this paper. The results show that the metamorphic rocks originated from mud rocks are characterized by relatively higher aluminum (Al2O3) and kalium (K2ONa2O,K2O/K2O+Na2O0.5), and lower caicium (CaOMgO). The REE distribution pattern is similar to each other, indicating that REE is inactive in the metamorphism. Distribution of Ce in REE indicates that the sediment of mud rocks was formed in a shallow sea environment or in seawater near land.
