Reason Analysis of Tensile Fracture Demixing of Thick Gauge Ship Plate

Because pockmarks and cracks appeared in the tensile simple of thick gauge ship plate DH36 produced by Laiwu Steel,demixing phenomena appeared in the fracture and the percentage elongation after fracture was low,the microscopic structure and the fractography were analyzed by means of macro check,metallographic and SEM.The results showed that it is main reasons of the fracture demixing that banded structure,Widmanstatten structure and fine cracks resulted in the segregation of carbon and alloy elements and the grain boundary precipitation of inclusion.Reducing composition segregation and restraining Widmanstatten structure in the center by appropriate heat temperature can cut levels of this demixing.
