The Induction of IL-2 and IFN-γ in Human Lung Tumor Cell Lines by Astragulus

Three human lung cancer cell lines were cultured with different doses of Astragulus(AG)and ELISA was performed for the quantitative measurement of IL 2 and IFN γ in those cell lines The levels of IL 2 and IFN γ in three lung cancer cell lines which is induced by the middle dose AG is significantly higher than that of the control(P0 05) Our results suggest that a middle dose AG could induce IL 2 and IFN γ in human lung cancer cell lines,and a middle dose AG may suppress growth by regulating or switching the cytokine pattern of tumor cell lines from Th 2 type to Th 0/Th 1
