Relationship between matrix metalloproteinase and metastasis of gastrtic cancer

Zhang Cuiping,Jiang Yueping,Wu Jun,et al
Objective Objectlve To study the expression Of matrix metalloproteinases(MMP)in gastric cancer and their corresponding adjacent tissues,to investigate the possible mechanism of tumor lnvasion and metastasis in gastric cancer.Method Tumor tissues and adjacent tissues in 40 cases of gastric cancer were detected by the reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results The expression of MMP-2 and MMP-7mRNA in tumor tissues were higher than that in adjacent tissues,respectively(P≤0.001).The expression was related to tumor size, degree of differentiation and clinicai staging. The expression of MMP-2 and MMP-7mRNA inl7gastric cancer with lymph node metastasis were higher than that in without lymph node metastasis. Conclusion MMP-2 and MMP-7 are related to tumor invasion and metastasis in gastric cancer.
