Experimental study of grifola frondosa polysaccharide on mice with S_(180) sarcoma

Objective: To investigate the effects of grifola frondosa polysaccharide on the mice with transplanted S_(180) sarcoma.Methods: S_(180) sarcomas were transplanted into mice to make animal models,polysaccharide solution and cyclophosphane were filled the stomach in each model group, then thymus index and spleen index as well as tumor inhibition rate were tested.Results:Inhibition rates of S_(180) sarcoma for each polysaccharide and cyclophosphane model group were 47.92% and 41.55%;thymus index and spleen index in polysaccharide group were greatly higher than those in cyclophosphane group and saline group,but body weight of mice didn't change.Conclusion: Grifola frondosa polysaccharide can inhibit tumor cell growth.Its mechanism is probably associated with the increase of mice's immune function.
