Comparison of Platinum Concentration in Cervical Cancer Tissue through Different Levels of Pelvic Arteries Infusion Chemotherapy before Carboplatin Administration

Objective:To compare the platinum concentration in cervical cancer tissue via ultraselection uterine artery and anterior trunk of internal iliac artery infusion chemotherapy before carboplatin administration.Methods:Fourteen patients with advanced cervical cancer(large focus,easily taken) who had been proved by pathological examination were randomly divided into two groups:ultraselection uterine artery infusion group(group A,n=7) and anterior trunk of internal iliac artery infusion group(group B,n=7).Carboplatin was administered at the dosage of 300 mg/m2 once in two groups respectively.Cancer tissues from the cervix were collected at different times(0 min,10 min,20 min) after infusion in two groups respectively and the platinum concentration was detected.Results:①Peak value and shape of curve:The platinum concentrations in cancer tissue reached their peak levels right after infusion,and then decreased rapidly with time going on,appeared descending curve in both groups.The peak concentration of cancer tissues in group A(251.00±119.39 ng/mg) was higher than that in group B(186.73±110.66 ng/mg),however,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).②AUC0~20 min value:No significant difference was detected in the area under the tissue concentration-time curve(AUC) of cervical tissues from 0~20 minutes between group A(3432.50±2099.94 ng.min/mg) and group B(2722.36±1474.34 ng.min/mg)(P0.05).Conclusions:There is no obvious difference in platinum concentration in cancer tissue no matter the peak concentration or AUC0~20 min between the ultraselection uterine artery infusion and the anterior trunk of internal iliac artery infusion chemotherapy in anti-tumor effect.It suggests that from the point of reducing the complication of arterial chemotherapy,we should choose appropriate targeted vessels to administration for chemotherapy according to the staging of cervical cancer.
