ER、PR are up regulated by rehmannia in aging female mice

Objective: To investigate the role of regulation of rehmannia on serum E 2, splenic estrogen receptor(ER), osteoblasts progestin receptor(PR) levels in aging female mice. Methods: Serum E 2 was determined by RIA, ER proteins of splenic cells and PR proteins of osteoblasts were determined by radio-ligand binding assay. Results: With aging, levels of serum E 2、ER of splenic cells and PR of osteoblasts decreased progressively in female mice in control group. In rehmannia group, levels of ER、PR increased remarkably(P0.01) as compared with the control group. Conclusions: Rehmannia has the function to prevent the decrease of ER、PR in aging female mice.
