Analysis of Zhanjiang Seacoast Mangroves Structural Width for the Wave preventing Benefit

Chen Dasen (Fisheries College of Zhanjiang Ocean University, Zhanjiang 524025)
According to the wave distributing situation along Zhanjiang seacoast, appling the wave attenuation coefficient formula established by zhang jiachang, through calculating and analysing with the goal of 80 percent of the wave preventing benefit, the reasonable structural width of growing mangroves along Zhanjiang seacoast is about 80 to 120 metres in the small tidal range (about two metres) sea area or about 200 to 300 metres in the large tidal range (about four metres) sea area.
