Investigation and Assessment of Pollution Load on Four Surface Runoffs in Shanghai Suburbs

Surface runoffs is a non-point source pollution produced by a complicated raining process. Runoffs depth, pollutant concentration and area are three elements of surface runoffs pollution load. Investigations of pollution load of 4 surface runoffs have been conducted, and compared with total non-point pollution load in Shanghai suburbs on the basis of pollution sources assessment. The total amount of pollutants such as CODcr, TN, TP discharged from surface runoffs into water body in Shanghai suburbs were 62634.7t/a, 6288.2t/a and 1244.6t/a respectively. Surface runoffs was an important non-point pollution source in Shanghai suburbs next to animal husbandry excrements.
