Economic Analysis on the Storage and Transportation Schemes for Fuel Cell Powered Vehicles

The results of the typical case study presented in literatures and analysed to ascertain the determining factors of economic benefit of fuel cell vehicles. The production cost of hydrogen and methane at different storage and transportation schemes have been first evaluated, then the economic benefit of fuel cell vehicles fueled by hydrogen, methanol and gasoline were evaluated in such aspects as stationary infrastructure cost, emission, fuel retailed price and manufacturing cost of vehicles. The cost-benefit analysis of hydrogen production from methane reforming at different capacities was carried out, and high-pressure gaseous hydrogen, liquefied hydrogen were emphasized for the current on-broad hydrogen storage.
