EFFECT OF ISOTHERMAL BAINITE TREATMENT ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ULTRA HIGH STRENGTH TRIP STEEL

The influence of isothermal bainitic treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cold rolled C-Si-Mn TRIP steel sheets was investigated by using optical microscopy,EBSD and XRD,and the volume fraction of different phases could be estimated by using indirect methodology.Results showed that the diameter of retained austenite was within 2~3 μm,distributed on the boundaries of the ferrite.The amount of austenite increased and then decreased with the increasing of bainitic holding time,while the carbon content of the austenite increased.The maximum volume fraction of austenite and the time reaching the maximum dropped rapidly with the increasing of bainitic holding temperature.The higher the holding temperature was,the more the carbon amount could be obtained in retained austenite.In fact,the amount of retained austenite and its carbon content influenced the mechanical properties of TRIP steel.
