HOT DUCTILITY OF 18% Mn TWIP STEEL

The hot ductility and fracture mechanism of TWIP steel containing 18%Mn was studied by tensile test in the temperature range from 700 ℃ to 1 300 ℃ by the use of Gleeble-3500 thermo-mechanical simulator.Results showed that in the temperature range from 900 ℃ to 1 100 ℃,dynamic recrystallization took place and consequently the ductility was enhanced,and the recrystallization grain size was about 37.84 μm.In the temperature range from 700 ℃ to 1 100 ℃,the section shrinkage(Z) increased with the increasing of deformation temperature and decreased rapidly in the temperature rage from 1 100 ℃ to 1 300 ℃.Grain boundary sliding was recognized as the failure mechanism in the studied steel.
