The Effects of Molecular Sieve Pore and Acid on Benzene Alkylation with Propylene

Gai Xinjun, Wang Li and Deng Jianbiao (Tianjin University, Tianjin, 300720; Chemical Works No.l of Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Co., Ltd., SINOPEC, Beijing, 102500)  
This paper reviewed the development of zeolite catalyst and compared the effects of pore, acid and catalytic properties of mordenite,ZSM, Y, β and MCM zeolites on benzene alkylation with propylene. With development of cumene process using zeolite catalyst, the new alkylation catalyst having high activity, no corrosion and much environment will be the emphasis of future research and development.
