Topological Sensitivity Method for the Optimal Placement of Unconstrained Damping Materials under Dynamic Response Constraints

The concepts of damping cell element and damping topological sensitivity were proposed, and a topological optimization criterion for placement of unconstrained damping materials in structures by overall evaluation of the damping topological sensitivity was presented. The topology optimization model with weight objective and frequency response constraint was formulated. The relationship between the scale of damping material ground structure and optimization effectiveness was discussed. The typical examples show the validity of the presented method.
