Fast HLS Transformation in Color Image Processing

Institute of Image Processing & Pattern Recognition, Shanghai Jiaotong University, China  
Segmentation is an important skill in image processing. Some traditional segmentation algorithms based on RGB components can not exactly extract features of an object. In this paper, a new method of fast HLS(Hue, Luminance, and Saturation) transformation is presented. The method has advantages of low computation and high accuracy, and it is easy to extract color features from an image. It is used in medical image processing system and has a good effect.
