ICM Method for Topology Optimization Design of Continuum Structures

Based on the ICM (independent continuous topological variables and mapping transformation) method, a unified smooth model with weight objective and stress constraints was established for the topology optimization design of continuum structures. The corresponding high efficient element deletion criterion and algorithm which take account of the comprehensive results of force transfer were introduced. The presented typical 2D and 3D examples show the simplicity, fast convergence and reliability of the proposed method.
