Production and identification of water-saving & drought-resistant transgenic indica-type rice with cry1C~* gene

The gene cry1C* was introduced into 'Hanhui 3',a water-saving drought-resistant indica-type rice cultivar,via Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation,and several positive transgenic plants were obtained by PCR screening and Southern analysis.The field experiment showed that the transgenic plants had significant resistance to rice leaf roller.
