AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE QUALITY (RESIDUES OF HARMFUL SUBSTANCES) OF AGRICULTURAL AND ANIMAL PRODUCTS IN SHANGHAI

In this study the quality (residues of harmful substances)of some main agricultural and animal products in Shanghai (i. e. grains, vegetables, fruits,edible mushrooms,animal and poultry products, eggs, milk)was investigated, tested, and analysed. In connection with the present situation of the agricultural environmental pollution in Shanghai, the research was done by collecting and using the relevant data since 1989. A systematic research method of random and level sampling was used. The paper reports the main pollutant contents and percentages of samples exceeding standard of the agricultural and animal products produced in the production bases and the main polluted areas in Shanghai. It also discusses the ways to prevent these products from being polluted.
