Vibration Characteristics of Axially Moving Laminated Cylindrical Shells

Vibration characteristics of axially moving laminated cylindrical shells were studied. Based on the Donnell's shell theory, the transverse vibration equation of axially moving laminated cylindrical shells was established. The equation was then solved by Galerkin method, and the natural frequencies of shells were obtained. Effectiveness of this method was testified via comparison with the finite element results. The effects of axially moving velocity, fiber orientation angle, length-to-radius radio and thickness-to-radius radio on the shell vibration characteristics were investigated. It was shown that the first three natural frequencies of axially moving laminated cylindrical shells reach their maximum when the fiber orientation angle is(15?/-15?)s.
