A correlational Study Between Self-Consistency and Congruence and Mental Health of Senior High School Students

Objective:To find out the total conditions of self-consistency and congruence and the conditions of mental health of senior high school students and the correlationship.Method:This research used the self-consistency and congruence and the conditions scale(SCCS) and the high school students mental health questionnaire to carry on the questionnaire survey to four middle schools students in Hunan and Guizhou.Results:It was not very good to the senior high school students' conditions of self-consistency and congruence.There was no significantly difference between senior high school students and college students' norm in the incongruence factor,however,there was significantly difference in the self-flexibilty(p0.001)and difference in the self-stereotype(p0.05).Significant positive correlations were found between factors of self-congruence(such as incongruence,self-stereotype,total score) and the factors of mental health.The self-flexibilty with mental health score,paranoid,hostility and maladaptation is a positive correlation.Conclusion:There was a significant correlation between self-harmony and mental health for high school students,and self-harmony had some predict to mental health,so training self-congruence of high school students could help to improve their mental health levels.
