Preparation of a New Adsorbent by Using Chitosan Derivatives Polymer Modified Bentonite

In this study,the cationic Chitosan hydrochloride was intercalated into bentonite by ion exchangeing.The main factors of affecting the amount of sorption were found Through a Orthogonal experiment.Results indicate that the amount of sorption are mainly affected by the Concentration of Chitosan hydrochloride,the activating temperature of bentonite and the temperature when synthesizing the adsorbent.The saturated adsorption capacity of the adsorbent when applying in the adsorption of phenol form wastewater reached 10.25mg/g,when the Concentration of Phenol is 60 ppm,which was more than 10 times than that of unmodified bentonite.So,this adsorbent can be used in the processing of the treatment of waste water containing low concentrations of phenolic.
