The Distribution of Cyclic Nucleoside in Points Shenque (RN8) and Shenshu (B23) Tissues of Normal Rats and the Changes After Acupuncture

Objective To investigate the distribution of cyclic nucleoside in different points and its relation with acupuncture effect. Method Radioimmunoassay was used to measure cAMP and cGMP in points Shenque (RN 8) and Shenshu (BL 23) tissues. Results In normal rats,cAMP and cGMP were significantly higher in point Shenque than in point Shenshu tissue (P0.001,P0.05); the difference in cGMP between the two groups disappeared during electropuncture of point Shenshu. Conclusion It is suggested that the different distribution of cyclic nucleoside in different points may be one of the substance bases for the different specific function that different points perfourm.
