Determination of design ground motion for critical engineering project

The middle-long period contents of earthquake response spectrum evaluated by the earthquake risk probability consistent method are usually higher than that of the standard spectrum given by aseismic design codes, which leads to that it is difficult to apply them for practical problems. In this paper, reasonable determination of the response spectrum of design earthquake for critical engineering is proposed by considering the dynamic property of practi cal engineering and the design standard of peak acceleration. Based on the design ground mo tion and its attenuation law, the response spectrum of design ground motion is given.
