Comparative study on the earthquake behavior of concrete filled steel tubular structures

In this paper, seismic behaviors of four kinds of 5-story frame structures, which are respectively composed of the concrete filled steel tubular(CFST) and of reinforced concrete col- umn, have been studied. SAP2000 program is used for calculating the seismic responses of the structures. Dynamic behaviors and earthquake responses of the CFST and reinforced concrete structures are analyzed. Comparing the calculation results, the earthquake resistant behavior of the CFST structure has been appraised synthetically, which may be referenced for structure design.
