Study on Synthesis Mechanism of Nano-crystalline NiAl by Mechanical Alloying

Nano-crystalline NiAl was synthesized by mechanical alloying(MA) taking elemental powders as raw material.NixAl100-x(x=25,30,40,50) was ball-milled at different time and in different rotating speeds,their synthesized products were investigated by means of X-ray diffraction(XRD).The synthesis mechanism of NiAl by MA was also discussed.The results show that nano-crystalline NiAl intermetallics compound can be synthesized by MA taking elemental powders of NixAl100-x(x=25,30,40,50) as raw material,the synthesis mechanism of NiAl by MA is combustion reaction.
