Effects of Process on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of X70 for Strain-based Design Line Pipe Steel

The effects of process on microstructure and mechanical properties of X70 for strain-based design line pipe steel were studied by the analysis of SEM, TEM, EBSD. The results show that the content of pro-eutectoid ferrite increases, the content of bainite reduces and the parameters of high deformability increases with the decrease of the start cooling temperature. When the start cooling temperature is about 700 ℃, pro-eutectoid ferrite is equably dispersed in the matrix, the dislocation at ferrite grain boundary entangles to form cellular structure and refines the ferrite grain, the testing steel has excellent integrated mechanical properties: σ0.2=560 MPa, σb=710 MPa, δ=23.5%, n=0.10, σ0.2/σb=0.78, δu=18.1%. The results of the EBSD study show that the grain boundary misorientation of the two phases of ferrite and bainite is above 15°, the deformation potential is obviously increased when a large amount of small-angle boundary exists in bainite.
