Finite Element Analysis of Residual Stress for 5A06 Aluminum Welded Joint

Temperature and stress field of 5A06 aluminum welded joint was simulated by using thermal-elastoplastic finite element method.The 3-D solid elements were used in FEM model,and the effect of temperature,and the heat convection and radiation of boundary on material properties were considered.The temperature field and residual stress field were obtained by using 3-D double-ellipsoidal heat source model to simulate welded process.The results of prediction and actual measured were compared and the results coincided with each other.
